Day 1: LIMA PICK UP
Reception in the Lima airport and transfer to the Hotel located in
Miraflores, Lima. (no meals)
Day 2: LIMA CITY TOUR, GOLD MUSEUM AND BARRANCO
In the morning Lima city tour, you will be picked up from your hotel
at 10 AM. The city tour begin with the visit to the Plaza the Armas,
which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Running
along two sides are arcades with shops: Portal de Escribanos and
Portal de Botoneros.
In the centre of the Plaza is a bronze fountain dating from 1560.
Located in the Plaza is the Cathedral, note the splendidly carved
stalls, the silver covered altars surrounded by fine woodwork,
mosaic covered walls bearing the coats of arms of Lima and Pizarro.
Next to the Cathedral is the Archbishop's Palace. Then you'll visit
the Monastery of San Francisco, this is famous for the Sivillian
tilework and panelled ceiling in the cloisters, the catacombs under
the church and part of the monastery are well worth seeing, You'll
visit the old colonial streets in the centre of the city, and the
modern Lima with the district of San Isidro and Miraflores. We will
also visit the Gold Museum, this excellent collection includes pre-Columbian
gold, silver and bronze, ceramics, weavings, mummies, etc. Upstairs
is a remarkable arms collections with an impressive exhibition from
Spanish colonial times.
Finally, we will visit Barranco which it is a bohemian suburb.
Barranco is known for the writers, painters and musicians. Bridge of
Sighs is in Barranco, a lover's point above. The old but solid
bridge has long inspired poets and songwriters. Transfer to the
hotel and overnight. (B,L)
Day 3: NAZCA FULL DAY TOUR
You will be picked up from your Hotel in Lima at 6:00 am, we will
provide a driver and a minivan, the ride will take around 6 hours
each way . On the way we will visit the Museum of the site. The
Maria Reiche tomb and we will stop at the Over view of Nazca. Cut
into the stony desert are large number of lines, not only parallels
and geometrical figures, but also designs such as a dog, an enormous
monkey, a bird with a wing span of over 100 meters, a spider and a
tree. The lines, that represent some sort of vast astronomical pre-Inca
calendar, are best seen from the air, we will take a half hour
flight above the Lines (Airfare included), after the over flight we
will take some time to rest and we will have lunch (included) before
to come back to Lima. Upon arrival transfer to your Hotel.(B,L)
Day 4: LIMA / CUSCO
Transfer to the airport where you will take the flight to Cusco (airfare
not included). Upon arrival reception at airport of Cusco and lodge
at your accommodation. In the afternoon: Cusco City Tour. This tour
includes the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral. The
tour moves along the Circunvalacion Road up to famous fortress of
Sacsahuaman, then to Q'enqo, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay. This tour
includes a bilingual guide. Include the Tourist ticket valid for the
entrance to many museums and ruins as well. Overnight. (B)
Day 5: CUSCO / MACHU PICCHU (overnight)
Breakfast. An according hour departure to Machu Picchu. Services
included: Bus to railway station and back, round trip first class
train ticket (Vistadome) Cusco/Aguas Calientes/Cusco, bus to ruins
and back, box-lunch, complete Ruin's tour with an English and
Spanish speaking guide. Overnight at Hotel in Aguas Calientes. (B+
Box Lunch)
*Optional: For lunch at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge instead of box-lunch,
add $30.00 to the tour price.
Day 6: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO
Morning at leisure to explore the are by your own (entrance fee and
transportation not included). In the afternoon you will take the
train to Cusco.
Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to the hotel . Overnight(B)
Day 7: SACRED VALLEY TOUR
Breakfast. You will be picked up at 8:15 am. Full day excursion to
the Urubamba Valley visiting: the colorful Indian market in Pisac
where a mixture of color, tradition will be able appreciated The
Valley has a distance of 31 km (19 miles) of Cusco, and one altitude
of 2,970 ms (9,700 p), Pisac where we will visit the market, and is
located to the entrance of the Sacred Valley followed by
Ollantaytambo, the older town continuously occupied of the American
continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their
channels that have not varied from the time Inca, evoke their
ancestral inheritance, lunch in a typical restaurant on the evening
and then the Chinchero market. At the end, return to Cusco at 6:30pm
approx.
The night is free for you to eat in a restaurant of your choice;
although we always have plenty of suggestions for you should you
require them. (B, L)
Note: Take this tour on market days: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
Day 8: CUSCO / LIMA
In the morning transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima (airfare
not included) in time to get your international flight connection
(B)
